So is it just me, or does it really just seem.....Bad. The game seems real slow to me, maybe its from the year off, but I am really having a tough time getting back into it.

Honestly, I haven't watched a game yet but have just been following results. With the time off and all the free agency moves, I don't think anyone knows who's supposed to be good and who's not. Almost everyone seems to have a chance, but that leads to a lot of fan confusion.

Well, the NHL Center Ice is free for the weekend, And I got to see the Wings face off the Flames, and whike it had the moments, the game seemed a little slower than I'm used to. At my Hockey league last night we talked about it a little, and one of my friends made the observation that the refs are really following these guys with eagle eyes. I guess that some whistles have come at key moments when even a play that isn't a penalty is called. Going to be a rough season I think.

I have gotten to see some more games and its growing on me. I have to say that I like it a whole lot. Still wish the B's would better. Boyten has to get used to the new rules, but the injuries and Sinden are killing them.

I did get into the Pens last season when they got hot and made it to the playoffs.  However, I haven't gotten into it yet this year.  It's probably the Sox run and the Pats success.  After the Super Bowl, I'll probably pay more attention.

It's on the rise... not having an espn deal is what really hurts, cuz Versus is not cutting edge. And that is needed when the sport has had trouble transitioning into TV. But supposedly they're working on new camera angles, and HD does help a lot. The winter classic was cool and the league is still recovering from the lock-out. But it doesn't have a major scandal like every other league. They haven't had any troubles with PEDs or really any drama, so that's a plus. The league is developing a lot of younger stars, and finally the 1st round picks in the draft are NHL ready, which helps a lot, so it's not so much like the MLB draft. I don't think it will ever be #1 or #2 amongst the leagues but hopefully it will be back up and competing with the NBA and MLB in the next couple years. I know I'm biased with working for the coyotes and all, but the league as a whole has a lot more going for it than when I was working in the NBA, where most of the concentration was on the superstars, who are getting stale quickly.
