Hello Gang! I've been away for awhile. Family tragedy. My sister passed away last week after being very recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A Horrific loss to me. She was the BEST person I've EVER known in my 51 years on this earth. Plus my mom's been sick since May, had surgery and IS getting better, so that explains my VERY LONG absence from this board. Now, the book I'm looking for was JUST published in JUNE of THIS year and I want to buy it for my husband for his birthday tomorrow. Barnes and Noble on-line does NOT have it. I called our LOCAL B&N and they said the book is NO LONGER being distributed to them. (Very odd). Amazon.com does not have the book either. Here's the title: Those Damned Yankees: The Not So Great History of Baseball's Evil Empire. Written by: Clarke Canfield Published by: Islandport Press, Inc. Format: Paperback 200 Pgs. Published: June 2005 Please don't confuse this book with one from 1999 by another author, with almost the same title. THAT one IS "Those Damned Yankees" but is NOT followed by "The Not So Great History of Baseball's Evil Empire. If ANYONE can help me to track down this book I will be EXTREMELY grateful. I'm SURE I'm in the BEST possible place with my RedSox "family" here to find this book. Thanks so much for ANYTHING anyone can do to help me out here. Love, Robin P.S. I hope everything has been going well for you and yours. Oh, and on Barnes and Noble on-line where you can click to find a used copy from an authorized seller, I come up empty on that too.

Robin, So sorry to hear about your loss.......hopefully your mother is well on the mend. I, too, have not been around much lately, due to trying to do 8 thousand things at once.....including helping care for my dear friend of many years, who also has cancer and went through an operation and now Kemo.......awful thing, but we have great hope for her. Thanks so much for remembering my birthday in the other post.....very sweet. I googled the Author of the book your looking for.....this should be it I believe http://www.islandportpress.com/damnedyankees.htm Take care of yourself and my best, to you and yours.

Thank you SO MUCH Just Once!!! How do you find these things??? Amazing!!! I really appreicate your very prompt help. I WILL be calling in an order for the book in the morning. Also, thank you for your kind remarks. I hope and pray that your friend WILL do well with treatment and will have a healthy life after her ordeal. I'm assuming your friend does NOT have pancreatic cancer. That is a VERY aggressive and vicious cancer. Due to my sister's very weakened state, and the size of the tumor there was NOTHING they could do for her except to keep her as comfortable as possible. She and I were fortunate enough to have VERY understanding and compassionate nurses and doctors who allowed me to stay with her in her hospital room around the clock. I stayed with her right to the very end. She was the MOST precious sister, and the most special PERSON that I will EVER know. It's very, very difficult to even attempt to deal with this horrific loss, but I DO know that time heals all. Again, Just Once, thank you and best wishes to you and your friend. Love, Robin
