Geez, Bosox Bob's pick of Brian Roberts is looking like the steal of the century. He is hitting .449 with 5 HR, 13 RBI, 14 Runs, and 6 SB. ANyone check what is in his Wheaties??? He was picked 204th. At least my pitchers actually showed up this week.

Yea, I have Roberts in another league and he's tearing it up. This week I was just disappointed in my pitching. Both Schmidt and Davis had bad outings which set me back. One would have been alright, but both killed my ERA and WHIP for the week.

I easily could have won with pitching this week except Mulder has been throwing meatballs. He'll make it eventuually and now I have Schill back, so watch out!

After seeing all the top second basemen go off the board earlier, I had pretty much decided on taking Roberts. And since he was far down on Yahoo's rankings and most everyone had a 2B, I figured I could wait to take him. I had him the last couple of months last year (2B was a problem all year), and he hit for a good average and stole a bunch of bases. That's all I was looking for this year. But where the heck did this power come from? He had 4 HRs all last year, but he's got 5 already! I expect he'll cool off some, but I am thrilled at the production I'm getting. Makes up for the fact that guys like Lowell and Drew got off to a slow start. |
