I'm definately in for a live draft. I don't know if I can give the time to concentrating on a mb draft because that requires to much manual work, which I think most of us know all to well. I can probably do it that way if it is the consensus, but let's see what others think. FWIW, a draft with everyone present would take a little more than an hour. I won my football league this fall, so you guys better be ready! How about a weeknight for the draft? If we signup now, we can get any day and time we want.

Bob, no hard feelings on you running the league. Setting up the draft is the hardest part. As always, if you need any help, let me know.

FYI - I'm sending everyone the league ID and password via the board's private message service. If you look to the top of this main section, you should see a link that reads "You have 1 new message". Click that to get to your inbox. Re the draft: here's yet another suggestion. Rather than be restricted by Yahoo's live draft limitations, how about we make use of our own chat room and do a semi-live draft, possibly in several segments. That might be the best of both worlds, assuming we can find times that work for everyone.

No disprespect intended here, but I'd like to know what kinds of Drafts folks have been participating in? There's no way, even with everyone present we can wip thru in a matter of a couple hours. This year will be year #15 for my league and also during that time I participated in 2 or 3 leagues at times. Not one draft (and this is with everyone sitting at the table as is happens) has taken less than 6 hours. Not one. The number of teams has something to do with it obviously. Eight or more teams and you have to earmark a minimum of 1/2 the day to get it done live. Think about it. An 8 team league would draft 200 players. A conservative estimate would have it taking an average of 2 minutes per player to draft. That comes out to more then 6 1/2 hours, and that's only if we were able to keep it to 2 minutes per player. The time it takes aside, if people don't mind and that's what the majority wants, then I'm all for a live draft, I'll just have to drop out in that case.

Well, we're up to seven teams. We've got to have at least eight if we're going to make this work. (Anybody? Bueller?) Where the heck is gr8fldave (or whatever the heck his screen name is now)? Come on, somebody else needs to sign up, or I'll be forced to award an expansion franchise to seantoo (and we all don't want that now, do we? ) BTW NYYS and seantoo, you still need to create your teams over at Yahoo. If we only have eight teams, should we consider being an AL-only or NL-only league? Otherwise, everybody's team will be stacked and the free agent pool will be pretty deep. If not that, then it might not be a bad idea to expand the rosters by a few players - say up to 25. Opinions? Also, any suggestions/comments about the league setup/rules? We also need to think about getting the ball rolling on a draft if we're going to be doing it off-line. If we only have eight teams, then it will go a bit faster, but I want to make sure it gets done in enough time to get the rosters entered and the league activated before the start of the season. Ideally, I'd like to get the draft going by the start of next week. That will give people this weekend to look at players and make decisions.
