Hey Gang!!! I made it but I still need help with something. Am I stuck with the password that I was GIVEN? I've been looking around and I don't see a place where I can CHANGE my password. I'd really prefer to have a password that makes sense to me. Thanks and GREAT JOB on the new site!!!! Robin Dummy me. I have to edit my very FIRST post here. I did NOT mean to start a NEW thread here. VERY sorry about that. I was attempting to ADD to the thread "Roll Call" and accidentally hit POST instead of REPLY. So that's how I messed up and accidentally began a new thread. Again, sorry guys, and gals.

On the left side of the screen near the top, click on "My Account" Then click on "Edit Your Information" At the bottom of that page type and retype your password in the corresponding spots, then it is changed.. It is hard to find though... We had another thread like this last week.

Thank you SO MUCH rs. I just did the change, and it WORKED. Prior to posting my question, I looked EVERYWHERE to see if there was either a previous thread on the subject OR if a password change was in FAQ's. It wasn't in FAQ's. Also, I could NOT find a previous thread. Now I'm wondering WHERE the previous thread IS. This leads me to ONE more VERY STUPID question for anyone who wants to throw their 2 cents in for me. Here goes: When I click on RED SOX FORUM, there's a list of ALL the topics, by subject name. The LAST subject on that first page is "2". I believe it was started by NSD on April 16th. After that, there a NO previous pages. So, IS that particular post actually the VERY first one on this new board? I can't find a "page 2" or "next page" indicator. Again, I KNOW it's a really IDIOTIC question, but what can I say.....? Lastly, I just realized I really SHOULD have put this whole thing under "NON-RED SOX FORUM". Perhaps Guru, BosoxBob, or berstch could MOVE this thread to the NON RED SOX FORUM? I didn't mean to "clutter" the actual Red Sox DISCUSSION part of the board. Sorry again folks. Robin

Point taken rs. SoSh has WAY too many rules and regs. I'm wondering why my signature isn't showing up after my posts. When you showed me how to change my password, I also filled in the signature that I want and I did hit "save changes" at the bottom, but it still isn't coming out. Go figure! Robin

Well Robin, not trying to make things more confusing, but there are actually two signatures. The one you filled out is for the site in general and will be attached to any stories you may submit to the main page. There's also a message board specific one that you can edit. If you look at the top of the message board there is a "Profile" link there where you can edit your board signature and select an "avatar", or picture to be put under your name on all your posts. As for the subject question you had, I'm pretty sure that the earliest "last post" for any subject on this board is "2". This is because each page of the forum should show 50 subjects. The "Roll Call" subject is about halfway up and has a fiery ball icon because it's a "hot topic". Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Guru!!!! And man are you FAST!!!! How in the world did you create a new area AND move the thread into this area so quickly??? You're AMAZING!!!! I know my signature WILL show up now because under Options, which shows up when typing a post, there is now a space to check off to Attach Signature. As far as avatars, I went to "browse" in the Profile thingy, and it opened "my pictures" file. I found one there that I want to use as an avatar, but I have a feeling it didn't work. I'll know when I hit submit though. So here goes, and THANK you SO MUCH Guru. GREAT job on this board. Robin

Hey Guru! In case you wanted to address my avatar problem, I DID find ONE thing out that is causing my problem. The avatar I tried to use is too big. It CANNOT be more than 24KB and cannot be more than 100 pixels wide by 100 pixels high. The one I tried was more than that. In fact, ALL of the images I have in "My Pictures" are larger than 24KB, as well as larger than 100 x 100 pixels. Does ANYONE know how to reduce an image from say 40KB down to 24KB or smaller? I HAVE learned a LOT of stuff about this computer, but not really anything about resizing images. When I had Webtv, there was a special thing for Webtv user to change the sizes of things, but I don't know how to do it with a computer. I'd very much appreciate ANYBODY'S help here. Thanks to Guru and all. Robin

Personally, I use a program called Irfanview to resize my images. It's small and does the conversions pretty easily. If you can't get it to work, then let me know and we'll come up with another solution.

Your not alone Robin ! I've been waking up at 4am in a cold sweat screaming "AVATAR" at the top of my lungs for the past week or so. ( and I had infraview on my computer the whole time !! ) Tour guide -- "and if everyone will look to their left, we should see NSD's first avatar on the new board" ( not including my first one that was enormous that Guru, correctly, got rid of :D )
