Hey Guru I need your help ASAP!!!! It's about my posting problem that I asked for some help with last month. The problem is continuing, and even getting WORSE lately. I'm going totally NUTS with it. I REALLY DO need your help OR the help of another administrator. FIRST OF ALL, would you please read my PREVIOUS thread/post that I wrote in April? If you do that first, I won't have to repeat myself. That thread is titled "Need Posting Help". After reading that, then can you answer the following POSTING question: . Is this board on some kind of a timer??? Meaning, once I BEGIN to compose my post and/or reply, does that automatically START some sort or "timer" and if you don't COMPLETE the post in X number of minutes I get "timed out"???? . I DO NOT understand this. Because even if there IS a timer, I posted TWO things this afternoon and EACH of the 2 posts took NO LONGER than 5 minutes from start to finish. I hit "preview" and my message was GONE and I was prompted to "Log In". Yet at the TOP of the page it CLEARLY stated "Log Out [Robin]" - Meaning that I was ALREADY logged in!!!! When I come to the board and want to reply to a post or start a new thread, the FIRST thing I do BEFORE composing is to Log In!!!!! This happens whether I hit "Preview" before submitting it, or if I DON'T preview it and simply hit "Submit". Imagine how FRUSTRATING it is to type a post, hit "Submit" and be asked to Log In when I'm ALREADY logged in??? Then having to try all over again???? Right about now I'm ready to freakin lose it. And just so you'll know, I'm NOT upset with you or anyone else. It's the situation that's really getting to me. The top of the page RIGHT NOW - As I'm typing this, Clearly READS: Log out [Robin] This means I AM logged in. However, I am POSITIVE that if I either hit "submit" or "preview", I WILL BE promted to Log In. And when that happens, my post is GONE. I have to log back in and retype the entire thing all over again. Here's what I'm going to do with THIS particular post so it does NOT disappear, but it's a pain in the butt to HAVE TO do this EVERYTIME I want to post something: I have to copy and paste the post to another place. Then come back here and hit "submit". Then, as usual, it will NOT post, instead my post will be GONE and I'll be promted to log in. So I'll log in AGAIN, go to the thread I want to reply to, hit "reply" which will bring up this box to type in. Then I have to go to where I copied my post to, copy it again and paste it back into this box and THEN hit submit. After I go through the above "steps", it DOES post. But why is this happening to me????? Can you PLEASE help me???? I can't take this anymore!!!!! Thanks Guru!!!! I'm now editing this post with the following: Okay Guru, it DID happen with THIS post. Just as I said it would. I hit "submit" and I had to log in AGAIN, and ALL of this WOULD HAVE been LOST if I hadn't copied it like I told you. I had to do all those copy and paste steps. Let's hope I can submit this "edit" without having to log in again because I'm NOT going to copy and paste THIS, which only took me a couple of minutes to type. Here goes:

I'm not sure if this will help, but check this out in the FAQ's for the board. Why do I get logged off automatically?

Thank you SO MUCH Guru!!!!! I don't know WHAT is wrong with me because in April I WENT to the FAQ's section and never even saw that particular question. Go figure!!!! So thank you a TON for posting that link for me. From now on I will be SURE to check off that little box when I log in. I see that box every time I log in, but had NO CLUE as to it's importance. I'm typing this having checked off the box. Let's give this a try and see how she flies!!!! Robin

Well Guru you SOLVED my problem. I just gave it a SERIOUS test and it PASSED with flying colors!!!!! I purposely "dragged my feet" composing a reply on the Red Sox Forum, and when I FINALLY hit "submit" it actually POSTED!!! And it posted VERY quickly too. I owe you BIG TIME, and cannot possibly thank you enough!!!!! Thank you a Trillion Gazillion. :) Robin

Now that I finally know what to do, I will be getting VERY, as in EXTREMELY. limited time to USE the computer beginning within the next hour. I'm leaving at noon to pick my son up from his vacation and once he's back, he will be on here day and night. Thanks again Guru. You're the best. This is a GREAT board!!!! Robin
