    Manny + Moss + Hansen = Bay

I know that management was looking to get Manny out of town after he threw his temper tantrum and pounded his fists on the ground like a little kid...

But even though we got a younder and serviceable replacement for Manny in Bay, it seems like we paid a high price in giving up three guys of the 40-man for one.

Manny had to go. From 2001 to June of 2008 he produced, but his antics since the end of June have been pathetic. He really tarnished all the good memories. I'm glad that they got a good player in return. Not much of a loss in Hansen IMHO as he has been tough to watch and for whatever reason, Francona has continued to throw him out there (While Timllin has essentially been mop up man) Too bad that Moss had to go (especially since they could have gotten Mahay for him). Maybe Leskanik can tape up his shoulder and come back? (LOL) Don't be surprised to see Manny on the Yankees next year. (Can you imagine how bad he will get booed?) (What other team wil be stupid enough to pay Manny Boras $$$$). Coincidently, Boras is also Bay's agent (Is there any payer who is not his client?) Apparently, Bay's father was a huge Red Sox Fan (Rice and Yaz years).

Don't get me wrong, because I think Bay is a great player, but I really expected to get him and a prospect in the trade.  It seems to me that the Pirates really got the steal of the trade in getting four young, quality players in exchange for Bay.
